FREEDOM CAMPING
'Free camping' (i.e. camping overnight in non-designated campgrounds) is allowed in many areas of New Zealand however Spaceships New Zealand strongly recommends that you use one of the many of the great camping ground options available as much as you can. If you do want to free camp please park near public toilet facilities and leave the site clear of any waste and rubbish when you leave. Your Spaceship comes supplied with Department of Conservation (DoC) campground guides for the North and South Island, plus information on all the main holiday park and campgrounds in New Zealand (Top Ten, Family Holiday Parks and so on). You can also visit one of our many Space Stations and find out the best local places to camp.
