If you are hiring for 21 days or more you get a free transfer from Auckland airport or the city to our depot. Auckland is the biggest city in New Zealand and a great place to start your campervan hire from.

Auckland general information

Auckland is the fourth largest city in the world by landmass. Of the nation's 4 million people over one third make Auckland their home. Auckland is built on a narrow piece of land between the Manukau and Waitemata Harbours. From Waitemata Harbour you can see the area's youngest volcano 'Rangitoto Island' which was formed around 600 years ago. The landscape of Auckland is made up of around 20 visible volcanoes. A couple of good examples are One Tree Hill and Mt Eden. It is estimated one in ten Aucklanders owns a boat and it is because of this that Auckland is known as the 'City of Sails'.
