Surf to Summit

This year two teams took six Spaceships campervans from the top to the bottom of the South Island of New Zealand to complete the 2011 Surf to Summit event.

The two teams had to navigate their way around the South Island finding the best conditions possible each day to ski a different summit and surf a different beach each day for four days straight in order to complete the 2011 Surf to Summit mission!

The first four videos in the gallery show each days footage as shown on Sky Sport 1.

The Spaceships excelled on the South Island roads. With some racks from Thule and all the boards and skis strapped on the roof the teams were off. The roadie started at Farewell Spit at the top of the South Island and finsihed in Bluff four days later. Some big days were required to complete the mission but both teams met up in the Catlins on dusk for the final surf for Surf to Summit 2011.

There are not many places in the world where such a challenge is possible. The South Island truely is magnificent! Get out there and see it in a Spaceship one day soon.
