The Department of Conservation (DOC) camping was a great way to camp your way around New Zealand. DOC campsites are located throughout New Zealand offering great camping options at very affordable prices.

What has happened to the DOC campsite pass?

The DOC campsite pass was a prepaid campsite pass to give you access to over 90 DOC campsites across New Zealand. Unfortunately, the DOC Pass no longer exists, but will eventually be replaced by a new pass later in 2020.

Update from DOC: "The Department has been conducting a review into its campsite passes. As a result of this review, we have decided to cancel the Conservation Campsite Pass for rental campervans from 1 July 2020. The Department will be launching a new campsite pass, available to all travellers and not restricted to self-contained vehicles. We will send you information about this product later in the year."

Benefits of a DOC campsite pass
